"If you don't think your anxiety, depression, sadness and stress impact your physical health, think again. All of these emotions trigger chemical reactions in your body, which can lead to inflammation and a weakened immune system. Learn how to cope, sweet friend. There will always be dark days."

Over the past several months my body has been waging a war on itself. I have gone to a few doctor's who have told me, "well maybe it's an ulcer", to "no, I don't think it's an ulcer but it may be H Pylori". I have gotten blood work done (which, by the way was all exemplary) and no answers there. They even tested me for celiac and nada. I will be honest, its been insanely frustrating. I'm sick of feeling car sick all the time. I'm sick of the puking and the headaches and the constant fatigue. I'm definitely over the crying all the time and panic attacks! Then it clicked, whats the common factor between all of these symptoms and my life recently? Stress. Between planning a wedding, getting married, moving countries, dealing with crap neighbors and now moving again I've been a tad stressed.
My stress factors came to a bit of a peak a few weeks back and I told myself to start listening to the important people in my life. My mom, my husband, my birth mom all have said the same thing, "relax, Rachel!" Which is simple enough to say but I am really bad at not letting things get to me. I am a stress vacuum, if you ever wanna get rid of your stress come talk to me, you'll feel great after. I on the other hand will be a giant ball of stress. Anyways, I decided to listen to them, to ignore the people and things that were stressing me (it worked for a solid week) and guess what? My stomach was fine, the panic attacks decreased in frequency and I didn't feel the constant need to cry. Some of you may be thinking, stress can't wreak that much havoc on your body! Or maybe you are smarter than me and already knew that it could. Here is some proof that I found on Healthline that shows side effects that can be caused by chronic Stress. (*= What I've been dealing with)
Also found on Healthline, here are some ideas to combat stress, in the moment!

None of these things listed above are ideal. In fact, all of those things are things we generally want to keep running as smooth as possible. At the end of the day, if we want to live long and healthy lives we need to reduce the stress in said lives. Some things I have been trying to do more of is Yoga and Meditation. So far so good but, with my current move coming up I have been slacking a bit,I am hoping to pick it back up when I get in the new place.
Also found on Healthline, here are some ideas to combat stress, in the moment!- Listen to Music
- Call a Friend
- Meditate
- Eat right
- Exercise (evil but necessary)
So these may seem silly or easy but hey, why not try them? I know I will be! In the meantime, if you have any ideas on how else to calm the eff down let me know in the comments! Thanks for taking the time to read and I hope you can get rid of your stress as much as humanly possible, for your health! Here's to happy lives, no panic attacks and less stress!
Rachel
